A state-of-the-art EMC hose filter system (Energy Minimizing Concept) from Scheuch GmbH has been installed in the Drehofen facility of the LEUBE cement plant, which has been in operation since March 2012, for dedusting the furnace exhaust gases. The new oven filter reduces the target value of dust emissions by 50%, with the new filter system reducing dust emissions to only 5 mg / m³. Through the installations of the innovative dust separation technology, the dust emissions could be minimized to around 12 kilograms per day.

The last electrostatic filter which was still in use at LEUBE was replaced by a hose filter system from Scheuch GmbH, one of the world’s leading developers and manufacturers of fabric filters. EMC filter technology is considered to be the best available technology (BAT) for process filters – even in comparison to electrical and reverse air filters. The environmentally relevant advantages of the new hose filter technology are the significantly lower dust emissions and the simultaneous reduction in energy consumption.

In addition to the ecological environmental benefit, the new installation also has a financial advantage for the cement works.

In the new hose filter plant has invested around five million euros, including the conversion of the raw mill and the renewal of the classifiers. Since 2010, more than 36 million euros have been invested in state-of-the-art environmental technologies.
